- There is no secure way to transmit information over an HTTP connection. Anything transmitted this way is observable and can be manipulated. It is worthwhile to use an HTTPS (TLS) connection to the server.
- Typically the tw-receiver-server.php file is in the same directory as the wiki html file. In that case the default "Server URL: tw-receiver-server.php" can be used.

about

Projects are a grouped set of tasks related by objective.

These form the heart of your task management system, and show a Dashboard-overview of critical Project info such as progress, priority and due date; as well as your Team, Meetings, Delegated and Waiting Actions, and any Reference Items, etc.

Keep track of your Projects by status:

Active - Currently being worked on, but has a definite completion date or objective
Ongoing - Constantly being worked on, with no fixed end
Dormant - Paused, for the short or long term, but will resume
Someday/Maybe - A future goal
Abandoned - Stopped, but worth keeping

Active projects can have a due-date set by clicking on the calendar icon. When the date is set and shown, click on the [x] to clear it.

As your complete your tasks towards your goal, mark off the progress by clicking the forward arrows. There are 10 shown, for 10% increments.

When the project is completed, click the checkbox to the left of the project's name.

If the project is particularly important, click the star.

Using the Sub-Project of: dropdown, a project can be dependant on another project. For instance, "Home Renovation" could have a sub-project for each room.

Use the Project Lead: dropdown to indicate who the key person is. All new tasks made from this project's dashboard will be assigned to that person by default.

As the project progresses, use Status Updates (at the bottom of the Project dashboard) to track free-form notes and thoughts on what's been happening. Click the (+) button to add a new Status Update.

This is a really important project to plan all the projects I'm planning. It involves making a whole bunch of tasks, getting a group of people together, and organizing them all.

Generally, I want to:

  • Get all my stuff together
  • Figure out a way to get it all done
    • (Using David Allen's Getting Things Done methodology would be good)
  • Managing it with Cardo

Sometimes you need to get things done before you can get things done...

Simply create a Project and click the "Subproject Of:" dropdown to select a parent Project. You'll have a nicely organized hierarchy of what you're doing, so you can keep track of every phase, part, or subproject separately.

Agenda Items are topics to be discussed in a meeting.

To help guide your meetings, create and track Agenda Items and list the Attendees in the meeting's dashboard using the (N) (New) and (E) (Existing) buttons.

When your meeting starts, check off each person who attended.

During your meeting, open each Agenda Item to see what needs discussing and edit it to keep notes. Check them off to indicate they've been discussed, or leave them unchecked if you didn't get to that item.

about Reading

Track your entire Book Library with Cardo

Your entire library can be kept in your Cardo. Assign a book to a particular Arena to keep books separated by work, personal reading, or any other part of your life.

Dashboards easily show you whether the book is one you mean to read, are currently reading, finished, stopped part way through reading it, or was so bad you couldn't bear to keep it.

Keep track of when you started reading this book. When the date is set and shown, click on the [x] to clear it. Click the checkbox if you've read it (or at least attempted to) more than once.

Rate this book by clicking the stars beside the title.

Select the proper genre of the book from the row of checkboxes. You can add a genre by creating a new Tiddler and tagging it with .

Use the Author: dropdown to indicate who wrote the book. Other books by this author will appear on the author's dashboard, by clicking the ⇪ arrow.

Use the Loaned Out checkbox and dropdown to keep track of who's borrowing the book at the moment.

about

Goals are like personal projects with a meaning and rituals attached.

Each goal has a defined outcome, described in the body of the goal. It is supported by notes you make to describe the benefits of achieving that goal, the risks of not achieving it, and what rituals (habits) you need to do to ensure you reach and maintain your goals.

Goals can be one-time, or repeating:

Once - Something you have to achieve a single time, with a target date to achieve the goal by
Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Yearly - Something you have to do on a regular basis, but in certain intervals
Ongoing - An ongoing goal never ends. It's more a journey than a destination

Goals set to "Once" can have a date and time set by clicking on the calendar icon. When the date and time is set and shown, click on the [x] to clear it.

When the goal as been achieved, click the checkbox to the left of the goal's name.

If the goal is particularly important, click the star.

Supporting Reasons and Rituals

To help you achieve your goals, you should think about what deep need you'd be fulfilling by reaching this goal. What would change in your life and how you would benefit from those changes? What would stay the same if you didn't achieve this goal, and what are the personal, emotional, and physical risks of that happening? Think about how these questions would affect all areas of your life - your career, finances, family, relationships, even your self-worth.

Once you have a solid understanding of the reasons you're setting this goal, what rituals do you need to create to ensure you reach it? These are habit-forming activities that change your day-to-day mindset and energy level, and move you ever forward towards your goal. Rituals can be positive and negative - for instance, working out every other day at 7am, or not stopping at the coffee shop for that extra tall mocha whip latte.

I need to get my body in shape, so I'm not so wiped out all the time. The most obvious way to do this is to start by losing a bunch of weight.

Why I need to do this

The most important reason for losing weight is to improve my health overall. I feel like I'm tired and weak all the time, and it's affecting my self-esteem as well as my social life.

I really believe that if I can get a handle on my body, my whole world will change - energy levels, enthusiasm, love life, everything! I need to stop seeing myself as fat, and start saying to myself "I'm fit and healthy" so that I'll really identify that way.

What I will gain if I do this

I'll be able to keep up with the kids, and maybe even play hockey with them - instead of sitting on the sidelines or on the couch all the time.

Energy and stamina

My image of myself will improve, and I'll lose that shyness that keeps me from meeting and interacting with people.

Self-esteem
What I will lose of I don't do this

Diabetes runs in my family, I'm really at risk of it if I don't get my diet in order. I don't want to die young!

Risk diabetes
What rituals will support this

Exercise is as important as diet. I need to start doing something regularly, even if it's just running on a treadmill to start.
